At Our Campground and in the Local Area

Here at the Nittany Mountain KOA, we are pleased to offer a wide variety of fun activities for all ages. We have a long list of Theme Weekends to make your camping trip even more fun. In addition to all these events, we have a regular schedule of Hayrides, Fire Truck Rides, Ice Cream Socials, Bingo, Ceramics, DJ Dance Parties, Indoor & Outdoor Drive In Movies, and so much more! Or explore the local area…amusement parks, fairs & festivals and…LLWS.

Our 2014 events are going to be better than ever. We look forward to having you come and enjoy our fun and festive weekends. Make sure to check back often and watch out for updates as we continue to add and improve all the fun for this year!

APRIL

April 4-6: Welcome Back Weekend: It’s time to kick off another great camping season! Send your little “monsters” to the Rec Hall for Monster Madness Craft party. We will keep them busy while you get your sites ready to start the season. We will have our first campfire S’mores social of the season to get everyone back together for another year.

April 11-13: Spring Camper Appreciation Weekend: We want to thank everyone for being great campers. Seasonal Campers are invited to the Spring Seasonal Camper Meeting on Saturday morning. All campers are welcome to Enter to win a fun door prize and join us for an afternoon BINGO marathon. Bring your appetite to the Free Pasta Dinner** on Saturday night. Get a coupon for a great camping discount that you can use for another camping trip this summer.

April 18-21: Hippity, Hoppity Easter Weekend: Hop on down for a fun family weekend. Easter egg decorating, Candy and Egg Games, an Easter Egg Hunt & a visit from the Easter Bunny will be some of the fun. Join us for a tasty Easter morning Breakfast on Sunday. ($)

April 25-27: Spring Cleaning Yard Sale Weekend: Clean out the garage, your house and your RV & set up your "yard" sale right at your campsite. This event will be advertised locally and open to the public starting at 8am on Saturday- Rain or Shine. Turn your trash into someone else’s treasures.

MAY

May 2-4: Cinco de Mayo Fiesta Weekend: Hola Amigos! It’s going to be a hot & spicy weekend! Pinatas, Arts & Crafts, fun games & more. Join us for a delicious Taco Dinner Buffet on Saturday Night ($) We will have free margaritas for the adults only!

May 9-11: Mother's Day Weekend &CARE CAMPS BIG WEEKEND”:

Have a fun & special weekend, treating Mom to a good time and helping to support a great cause! Kids can make a special treat for Mom, then, she gets to enjoy a “Ladies Only” Wine & Cheese Party. Everyone is welcome to join us for our giant Chinese Auction Fundraiser for KOA Care Camps. Finish the weekend with an “All You Can Eat” Breakfast on Sunday – Mom’s Eat Free!

May 16-18: I Scream for Ice Cream Weekend: It doesn’t get any better than a weekend devoted to our favorite sweet treat. Join us for some fun ice cream games, ice cream trivia and save room for our Ultimate Huge Ice Cream Sundae Party.

May 23-26: Memorial Day Weekend:
Come celebrate the first big weekend of the camping season. All the summer fun starts now! The Snack Bar & Swimming Pools open for the season. Fire Truck rides, Hayrides, Golf Cart & Bicycle Parade, Horseshoe Tournament, Bingo, Tie Dye Party, Giant Inflatable Obstacle Course, Family Kickball Challenge, Site Sales, DJ Dance Party, Drive In Movie and the fun goes on and on and on!!

May 30 – June 1: Candy Palooza Party: It’s all about sugar, and sweets and all things ooey, gooey and delicious. Make some yummy Candy Crafts, then play in our Giant Candy Land Challenge. Find a Golden Ticket & you will be a winner. We will finish the night with a big Strawberry Shortcake Social, just to add something a little healthy to the weekend.

JUNE

June 6-8: Back to High School Prom Party: Guys & Girls of all ages need to get all dressed up for a fun trip back to a favorite high school memory. Help the prom decorating committee decorate for our own version of a Homecoming Parade then get ready for the big DJ Dance party on Saturday Night. There will even be a “spiked” punch bowl for the adults.

June 13-15: Father's Day Weekend and Vehicle Show: It’s Dad’s turn to have a special weekend. We will be hosting our annual Classic & Custom Vehicle Show on Saturday afternoon. Everyone is welcome to participate in the fishing derby. The guys will get a “Boys Night Out” Wings & Brews Party on Saturday night, followed by a Texas Hold “Em Tournament for all the card players. Treat Dad to a Big Breakfast on Sunday ($) Dad’s Eat Free!

Classic & Custom Car Show will be advertised locally & will be Open to the Public! Invite all your friends to enter their cars in the Show.($) Camping Not required, but entrants and their families are welcome to enjoy all the park amenities & fun while they are here. Campers will get a FREE night of camping if they enter a car in the show. Prizes Awarded in several categories. Proceeds to benefit KOA Care Camps.

June 20-22: Kids Extreme Weekend: It's time for the ooey & gooey, but always fun "Slopstacle Course!" Kids get messy, sloppy & covered in slime in this fun & unique sloppy obstacle course event. Kids get a special Hayride just for them, with a special surprise. There will be a glow stick DJ Dance Party on Saturday and a special Breakfast ($) on Sunday with lots of kid's treats to eat.

June 27-29: Super 70’s Weekend: Boogie on down to a groovy flashback weekend. Break out your mood rings, disco ball or best 8 track. Come dressed as your favorite 70’s TV character, movie character or musical act. We will be having our own version of the Gong Show for everyone to showcase their talents…or not!


JULY

July 3-6: Fourth of July Weekend: Celebrate a long Independence Day Weekend with us. Join in on the celebration bike & golf cart parade, horseshoe tournament, family kickball game, hay rides & fire truck rides, adults only swimming, Bingo, ceramics, Drive In Movie, DJ Karaoke Party….and so much more. Fireworks in the local area.

July 11-13: Wild West Weekend: Yee Haw! We are going to have some country fun this weekend. We will be bringing back our “Cowboy Jail” fundraiser for KOA Care Camps. Have your friends & family “arrested” and thrown in the pokey. They have to stay until someone post bail (aka donation to Care Camps) Kid’s can have fun at our wild west Shooting Gallery and everyone can enjoy a great Chuck Wagon Pig Roast Supper on Saturday Night.($)

July 18-20: Sawmill Festival #1 Weekend: This weekend will challenge your skills and test your strength. There is a very full schedule of events, including Nail Driving Contests, Log Rolling, Cross Cut Saw, Watermelon Seed Spitting, Tug of Water, Blindfold Boat Race, Greased Pole Climb, and even more..! There is an event for all ages and skill levels. Finish the weekend with the Awards Ceremony.

July 25-27: Sawmill Festival #2 Weekend: We just can't get enough of this great weekend. Join in for the first time or come back from last weekend and try your luck again.

AUGUST

August 1-3: Super Soaker Water Weekend: Start your weekend with Bubble Fun at our Giant Foam Party. Then get your biggest squirt gun or Super Soaker ready for the Water Wars & the always wild "Wet" Fire Truck Ride. Bring your appetite to the Free Corn & Hot Dog Roast**on Saturday night. We will be cooking up a big batch of fresh local corn and roasting hot dogs for all to enjoy or you can bring your own BBQ items to cook over the grills.

August 8-10: Family Olympics Weekend: Get your family teams together and join in on the fun filled games of skill, luck, and creativity. Plan ahead for the highlight of the day. The annual "Float Your Boat" competition. Build your best creation of cardboard, plastic wrap & duct tape only. Then get on board, to paddle across our pond. Several Categories to compete - 1 sailor, 2 sailors or the “Cruise Ship” (as many as you can) Be sure to give your boat a great name!
Seasonal Campers are invited to attend the Seasonal Camper Meeting. Get all the information and start planning for the 2015 camping season.

August 15-17: Super Summer Carnival Weekend: Come enjoy a great time at our own country carnival. You can try to win a prize at the Pig Races, Dart Throw, Ball Toss Games, Toilet Toss and more. Take a shot at the Dunk Tank, make a colorful creation at the Sand Art Booth, enjoy a cold Sno-Cone and more! Giant Bounce Course will keep the kids going all day.

August 22-24: Little League World Series Weekend: It will be a home run weekend that is all about baseball. The Little League World Series Championship Games will be held over this weekend, but if you decide not to go to the games, we will keep you running the bases back at the park.

August 29-September 1: Labor Day Weekend: It may be the end of Summer, but the fun will just not stop now. We will keep the party going with Candy Bar Bingo, Fire Truck Rides, Mini Golf Tournament, Site Sales, Ceramics, Tie Dye Party, Giant Inflatable Obstacle Course, Horseshoe Tournament, DJ Dance Party, Drive In Movie and so much more! Last weekend for the Swimming pools & Snack Bar.

SEPTEMBER

September 5-7: Annual Chili Cook-Off Weekend: Cook up a batch of your best Chili Recipe and bring it to our annual Chili Competition. Make a large batch for your fellow campers to try. They will be the judges! ($) Prizes awarded for the winners. We will be cooking up our own batch of chili & for all to enjoy. Bring your bowls & spoons!

September 12-14: Apple Celebration Weekend: Fall is getting into full swing now and the apples are in full season. Celebrate all things apple! Be sure to come and make your own Caramel Apple on a stick or as a sliced sundae. We will have many different toppings to try to make it even better. Free Warm Apple Crisp Social on Saturday night.

September 19-21: Bloomsburg Fair Weekend: It time for the opening weekend of the 159th Annual Bloomsburg Fair! Have a great time on the rides, playing games, and eating all your favorite “fair foods” at this great event. Check out www.Bloomsburgfair.com for the full calendar of events and performances

September 26-28: Fall Camper Appreciation Party Weekend: We want to thank you for staying with us this year. Join us for a Free Pig Roast & Pot Luck Dinner followed by a delicious Mountain Pie party in the picnic area. The more you stayed throughout the season, the bigger discount. If you stayed 1-3 Nights – save $5.00 off per night, 4-7 Nights – save $10.00 per night, 8-12 Nights – save $15.00 off per night, 13 nights or more – Get a Free Night. Kids will all kamp free.

OCTOBER

October 3-5: Oktoberfest Weekend: “Wilkommen” to a fun fall weekend. Join us for the Weiner Dog and Root Beer Drinking competitions. Take aim during the pretzel toss. Then join us for a foamy treat at our Beer Tasting Social on Saturday Night. We will have many varieties on hand to try, but would appreciate if you bring some of your favorites to share. Root Beer Floats for the kids!

October 10-12: Fall Festivities Weekend: We will be celebrating all the best of the fall season. We will be cooking up a big batch of homemade Ham & Bean Soup for everyone to enjoy. There will be pumpkins to decorate, and caramel apples to eat. End the evening with a fun Wine & Cheese Party for Adults on Saturday. We will have a variety of wines to sample, but would appreciate if you bring a bottle to share. We will have Cider & Cookies for the kids, too!

October 17-19: Halloween Party Weekend #1: Dress up as your best little ghost or goblin and come to our fun Halloween Costume Contest & Party. This is fun for all ages, not just the kids! You can even dress up your pet! Enter the Site Decorating Contest and Trick or Treat to all the campsites. Take advantage of some super bargains at our storewide “Moonlight Madness Sale.” Get ready to scream when you creep your way through our Haunted House & Terror Maze! You never know what may be lurking in the darkness! ($)

Haunted House & Maze will be advertised locally & Open to the public. Invite your friends over for a frightening good time!

October 25-27: Halloween Party #2: We just can’t get enough of the Halloween Fun! Come back again, and join in on the same fun that we had on Halloween #1.

October 31-November 2: Close Up & Clean Up Weekend: Last weekend before the long winter. Use this weekend to pack up for the end of the season. Help us clean out the last of the ice cream & snacks in the store. (NOTE – Not all sites & services will be available this weekend. Cabins & Upper Bath House will be closed after 10/26.In the event of early cold weather, water may need to be turned off)
